a few words from IFCA's new President - Geoffrey Furtaw

I want to thank you for voting me in as IFCA's President (the term is July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2021); I'm looking forward to being the "face of IFCA."

I learned about the life of a contractor from my father, Charles, who co-owned and operated the Philadelphia based John B. Kelly Company.  I've always been interested in construction and studied Civil Engineering from Lehigh and Drexel Universities.

I am co-owner of Ceilings Inc. which is a firm that has been in business since 1960.  I believe that a "company is only as good as the people behind it;" and as IFCA's President, I know that IFCA is filled with good contractors who stand behind IFCA and support our industry.

As President, I will work to promote legislation that is helpful to the subcontractor community, I will be supportive of services and benefits that promote the union construction industry and that of small business owners.  I will continue to be engaged nationally with all of the leading organizations that IFCA belongs to; and whenever necessary, will be sure to communicate the desires of the membership to our local labor leadership.

Over the summer months I will work with Kim Clerkin, IFCA's Executive Director, to update our organization's COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS and will be sure to attend whatever functions are ncessary.

If anyone has an industry issue that you'd like IFCA to get involved with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or to IFCA.

Geoff Furtaw, Ceilings Inc.
